Measure the speed of your pages.

JEIKO asks Google PageSpeed Insights to score each page — performance, accessibility, best practices, SEO — on desktop and on mobile. For that it needs a Google API key, which is free.

1 — Create a Google Cloud project

  1. Open console.cloud.google.com with your Google account.
  2. Project picker (at the top) › New project, name it (“My site”), then Create. If you already have a project for Google Calendar, the same one will do.

2 — Enable the API

  1. Menu ☰ › APIs & Services › Library.
  2. Search for PageSpeed Insights API, open it, click Enable.

3 — Create the key

  1. APIs & Services › Credentials › Create credentials › API key.
  2. Click the new key to restrict it: under API restrictions, tick only PageSpeed Insights API, then save. A restricted key is useless for anything else if it leaks.
  3. Copy the key (it starts with AIza).

4 — Enter it in JEIKO

Administration › Settings › Google API › PageSpeed Insights API key field, then save. The key is encrypted in the database.

How much does it cost?

Nothing: the PageSpeed Insights API is free, with a daily quota far beyond what a site uses. No credit card is required for this API.

Without a key, measurements do not run; the site itself works normally.
